P2 have been learning to spell words with igh. They wrote lots of igh words on bolts of lightning and then used a highlighter to underline the igh phoneme.
P3 are spelling word with soft c to make the s sound. After highlighting words in the sound story, they wrote c words all over their face!

Leave a comment with an igh or soft c word.

P2 are learning to spell words with ou for house and P3 ch for chemist. Some tasks can be a little tricky, so we can use ‘phone a friend’ as a strategy to help us.

Leave a comment with an ou or ch word.

Take care with the sounds.

What a busy week we’ve had! We took part in some Martial Arts training. We discovered our favourite fruits and learned about healthy food to eat. An amazing assault course, where everyone was eager to show off their climbing and rope swing skills. Some dance fun, although we’re not sure who had more fun…. us of Mr Straiton! Finishing with some very muddy rugby training.

What was your favourite part of Health Week?

Phonemes – ow and g

This week we have been learning about the phonemes ow for owl and g for giraffe. It was a little tricky because we had to take care with the sound that the phonemes made. To remind us, we made a little owl puppet and a giraffe mask.

Leave a comment with an ow or g phoneme.

Take care with the sound!

Stick Man

As part of our World Book Day celebrations, we read Stick Man by Julia Donaldson. We designed new book covers, found rhyming words, thought of more rhyming words and suggested new lines that continued the rhyme. We also designed Stick Man sliding puzzles. Here are the links below.

Astronaut Art

We thought we’d like to take a space walk just like Tim Peake!

We used lots of different art techniques including pastels, paint splatter and cross hatching.
